Developing Confidence & Self-Esteem

Lacking self-confidence or self-esteem is something that we all experience at one time or another. When we lack self-confidence we feel discouraged and fail to see any potential within ourselves.

If we wish to develop stable self-confidence it cannot be based upon superficial things like reputation, external accomplishments, status, or praise from others. Although these may temporarily lift us up and make us feel better about ourselves if we are unable to obtain them, or are separated from them (which is inevitable because they are impermanent), we shall soon lose our feeling of self-confidence.

On this half day course we will look at how we can use Buddhist meditation to develop authentic and stable self-confidence based upon our spiritual potential – something that is indestructible and innate within each of us.

What to expect at a half day course

All our half day courses are suitable for everyone.  Each week we cover a different aspect of meditation and Buddhist teachings that are relevant to our daily lives.  The course is split into two 1 hour sessions with an half hour break in the middle for refreshments.  If you cannot make it to the whole morning you are welcome to drop in to either 10.30-11.30 or 12-1pm sessions for £6.

If you can book in advance the price is £12.  If you turn up on the day the price is £14.

No.  Everyone is welcome.  These methods are applicable in our daily lives whatever our background or beliefs.

No.  The classes are all seated and you are welcome to sit on a chair or on a cushion on the floor.

Yes.  All of our classes are suitable for everyone.

No.  All of our classes are drop in.  However for half day courses and evening classes in the city there is a discount if you book in advance.

We are a not for profit charity.  All of the fees for classes cover the costs of running our Centres and go towards our International Temples Project.
