It can feel as though happiness is impossible in this world of ever changing and challenging climates.  Although thousands of years old Buddha’s teachings give us some confidence that happiness is available to us through transforming our minds from negative states to positive states. 

On this day retreat following on from the International Summer Festival at Manjushri KMC, Gen Kelsang Dornying will guide us through beautiful, practical meditations based on the teachings from the first week of the festival. This one-day retreat is perfect for those who don’t have much time after the festival, or for those who couldn’t make it and would like to receive the essence of the teachings given. This retreat is suitable for everyone and will lead us through the methods we need follow to experience and happy and peaceful life. 

Gen Kelsang Dornying is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Australia. He is an ordained Buddhist monk who has been practising and teaching Kadam Dharma in Australia for over 14 years.
He is an inspiring and light-hearted teacher of Modern Buddhism who makes Buddha’s teachings clear, accessible and applicable to modern, daily life. 


No.  Everyone is welcome.  These methods are applicable in our daily lives whatever our background or beliefs.

No.  The classes are all seated and you are welcome to sit on a chair or on a cushion on the floor.

Yes.  All of our classes are suitable for everyone.

No.  All of our classes are drop in.  However for half day courses and evening classes in the city there is a discount if you book in advance.

We are a not for profit charity.  All of the fees for classes cover the costs of running our Centres and go towards our International Temples Project.
