On this short online course we will look at some beautiful qualities of mind that we can learn to develop and maintain in our daily life that will benefit both ourselves and others. This course will be based on a set of teachings called ‘Training the Mind in Seven Points’ by the twelfth century teacher, Geshe Chekawa, and presented by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in his book Universal Compassion. This course will be recorded which means you can take part at a time that suits you over the christmas period.
The course will be available from Thursday 23 December until Wednesday 29 December.
Session 1: Recognizing Kindness – We can choose what we focus on. Recognizing the kindness of others enables us to keep a peaceful, happy mind and feel close to others even when they are not physically present.
Session 2: The Practise of Taking & Giving – This magical practise helps us to develop our good heart towards others. It is a wish for others to be happy and free from problems.
Session 3: A Compassionate Heart – when we think of others suffering sometimes it can feel overwhelming. Understanding compassion correctly means we can do something to help others who are suffering even if there is nothing physically we can do to help.
Session 4: Developing Wisdom – Wisdom enables us to act correctly in any situation because with wisdom we keep our mind focussed on meaningful objects.
