In this class on dealing with fear and anxiety we will begin to clearly identify why we experience fear so we can find real protection and develop and maintain a peaceful mind.  Anxiety often arises because we feel out of control. The result of this is an overwhelming sense of fear and panic.  By learning to identify the causes of our fear and anxiety, negative states of mind, we can begin to take control because we have the power, through meditation, to control our mind.

In Buddha’s teachings we discover that our fear is based upon not clearly understanding the source of our problems and suffering.  When we begin to understand the relationship between our actions and our experiences we will see that it is within our power to change our world and our fear will begin to reduce and disappear.

In this dealing with fear and anxiety class we will look at sections from Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book ‘Modern Buddhism‘ .
